I wasn't too far off!

Oooh Tori...you're sooo classy! Shannen Doherty may still be able to get bit parts with her tired old ass now and then...and Jennie Garth is on a low-rated show on the CW...and Luke Perry is on a new NBC show that no one watches...but you have them all beat...because just days after your beloved father passes away, you are gracing the cover of US Weekly sharing your sob story with the world.

I knew common decency and family privacy couldn't keep you down for long! An excerpt from the US Weekly article follows:

On the night of June 23, Tori Spelling sat in Betty’s restaurant in Toronto, Canada, when she received the heartbreaking news via BlackBerry that her father, legendary producer, Aaron, had passed away: “A friend of mine had seen a TV report and e-mailed me, ‘I’m so sorry. I just heard your father died.’ And I was just in total shock,” Tori tells Us. Her sorrow quickly turned to anger.

“My first thought was, I can’t believe my mom didn’t call me!” Actually, it wasn’t a total surprise since Tori, 33, and her mom, Candy have been in a longstanding feud. Because of the estrangement, the self-proclaimed daddy’s girl had only seen her 83-year-old father – whose health had been failing for months – on one occasion since last September. And that tearful visit, at the urging of her brother, Randy, 27 (also an actor), was on June 11, just two weeks before Aaron Spelling
died.

Tori remembers their final conversation. “The last words he spoke to me were over the phone a couple of days before he passed,” she recalls to Us. “He said, ‘I love you, babe.’ ”

What mystery man has caused the rift between Tori and her mother? How much of her father’s fortune is Tori expected to inherit? What’s in store for the feuding family now that the glue that held them together is gone? For more details on Tori’s final goodbye with her father, check out the current issue of Us, on newsstands this week.

Spelling in 7th Heaven

Conan tear
Hollywood legend and really old guy Aaron Spelling has passed away tonight due to complications from a recent stroke. Spelling had been in pretty bad shape for the past several months. Aaron Spelling is the most prolific producer in television history. He is survived by his wife Candy and two children, Tori and Randy. Rumors persist that Tori and her father had a falling out in the past year when Tori left her husband of less than 2 years for a married man. Aaron was not present at her recent wedding last month. I'm sure she's torn up about her father's passing and is wondering how much she'll be getting long she'll feel so sad.
